Little Lovebird Photography » Newborn, Baby, Family & Maternity Photographer in Hornchurch, Essex

Who Am I??

So you are looking for a new photographer for your baby and children… I think it’s only fair you get to know a little about me and my service before you book!

So hello! I am Helen Taylor, I live in Hornchurch in leafy Essex. My lovely family consists of two beautiful young daughters (aged 1 and 3), a fab husband and two furry mutts. I am 32 (I think…) and aside from photography which is my biggest passion I enjoy days out with the family, holidays (who doesn’t), singing, internet shopping (yikes!) and binge watching TV programmes.

How did I get into photography?:

I have had a love of photography from a very young age. I studied A Level Photography in college but then went on to study Performing Arts. I guess I have always been a bit creative and extrovert! In my twenties I bought my first digital SLR camera and practised lots, attended workshops, did online courses etc. My interest spiked when my first daughter was born. New parents will know, you just want to photograph every second of their life as you are so frightened of forgetting the tiny details! From that day I have been ever so slightly obsessed with newborn and child photography.

Indoors or outdoors photography?

I think there are pros and cons to both types. I love getting outdoors, photographing children naturally, playing, showing close connections with their family etc. I can also get quite funky with Photoshop on these sessions! The downside? Well that’s the Great.British.Weather. But fear not, I always have a plan B! Inside the studio is a lot more controlled, so it’s perfect for newborns and young children. It also means we can get some quite dramatic portraits, very classic. So I would say it’s personal choice for my clients, there is no right or wrong!

How experienced am I with babies and children?

With babies and newborns, I have lots of hands on personal experience (two babies of my own) plus I have had 1:1 training with an award winning newborn photographer. Safety is my number 1 concern. Many poses you see that look a bit unreal are actually composites of two images put together. I also have a good connection with older kids. Being a bit barmy I sing, dance, blow raspberries, make fart noises etc all to get those lovely smiles and giggles.

Where is my studio?

Currently my studio is in a dedicated room within my home, it’s functional and comfortable. My husband is building me a studio at the bottom of my garden so that’s exciting! If only he would finish it soon *sigh*….

Why choose me?

I am a stickler for detail and I wouldn’t provide my clients with anything I would personally not be happy with. You will get amazing photos to cherish forever. Ones that you will want to put on a wall, not keep on a CD/USB somewhere never to see the light of day. Whether it’s newborn, baby, toddler, child or family photography you can trust me to provide an impeccable service and to treat you and your children with care and consideration.

Thanks for reading, I hope that this has helped in your decision to book!
